  • PLANET -3 Eco-damage 190 -> no fungus growth

    I don't get it - for the last 10-15 rounds I've run FM with planet -3 and eco between 80 and now 190 and I don't get that damn fungus pop I need to start building tree farms, Hybrids and CP's that just waits.

    Usually that can be provoked with just 10-15 in eco and planet 0, so why not with those insane numbers ?

    That does sound unusual. Save file?

        Well, something appears to be corrupted in the save file: After opening the file, I get 100% CTD by taking the following actions:

        * Hit F4 key.
        * Right-click University base and select Zoom to BASE.
        * In the Base Facilities window, click somewhere on the scrollbar (which normally will scroll down one page).

        Program always crashes.

        However, if I play on for several turns, I do get >pops<, but not in University base. This seems to be abnormal. I also noticed one other odd feature. If you open the scenario editor and look at Scenario Parameters, the setting for "current sunspot turns-to-go" is -177. Not sure if that is part of the problem.

          Thanks for looking at it.

          First, the crash - I thought that you had gone crazy or something - I couldn't get a crash no matter what. That's until I realized I had taken a couple of turns more. When I went back to the 2277 it crashed for me too

          Guess that we have yet another case for scient.

          On topic, those -177 do give some kind of sense. I too went on and got a pop in 2288. 2101 + 177 + 10 gives 2288 (IIRC Sunspot takes 10 years).

          Guess that my 256x320 map do something bad with the rest of the setup.

            Ok, located and see what the problem is. As how to fix it, not sure yet. I'll need to understand bit more as to what few things are doing. I'll sort it for next release, crashes to desktop regardless of have rare they might be are top priority. This isn't specific to this save as well. Do the exact same thing in saved game you posted for air intercept crash (angels -> f4 -> zoom capital city -> click scrollbar -> crash). The problem seems to be something to do with zoom / lots of city improvements and maybe large maps.
