We discovered High Energy Chemistry and chose to research Nonlinear Maths.

The South damaged gun foil discovered a sea farming pod. Kelp, anyone?

The North gun foil discovered another sea farming pod. One of the squares is within North base working tiles radius.

2120 Diplomatic Niceties

Gaians: have gun foil prototype. So do we. No need to boast, Deirdre.
She demands Ind Eco without compensation. I try to ask for Ethical Calculus. No, she responds. Deirdre suggest a treaty. I accept to "walk with Planet". I ask for a tech. No. Pact is also out of the question. End of the discussion.

University (magnanimous): Offers a treaty. I accept. I try to ask for a tech, offering one of our valuable tech in payment, a bait the provost is willing to fall for. No is the reply, as he doesn't wish the Virtual World to fall into our hands. No pact either. I try to tech whore, he's interested in Social Psych for 25 EC and lacks High Energy Chemistry also. I agree to the trade. End of discussion.

Spartans (obstinate): they have laser squad (2-2-1). They demand High Energy Chemistry. I respond by asking for Planetary Networks. Santiago denies my request. I offer a treaty with goodwill for incentive, the colonel tells me she won't fall for that and ends the discussion.

Hive (obstinate): Yang offers a pact of brotherhood to stab Miriam. I decline. He offers Optical Computers against High Energy Chemistry. I try a counter offer of Social Psych. He denies and says he has Laser Infantry (2-2-1). He seconds his offer of Optical Computers against High Energy Chemistry. I agree to the trade. I offer a treaty but he denies it as I offered only goodwill and ends the discussion.

Believers (obstinate): offers map of Spartan territory against High Energy Chemistry. I accept. When asking for tech for anything Miriam wants, she denies and ends the discussion.

Morgan (magnanimous): greets me, says he's busy and uploads his world map. When asked for tech at any price, he tells me about the Virtual World he wishes to keep for himself and ends the discussion.

Bottomline: Optical Computer, a big map of Believers and Spartans territories, treaties with Zakharov and Deirdre. Our Morgan pact stands. And truce with the rest.

End turn: Social Engineering sliders set to 40% Eco/60% Labs. No sign of foreign activity.

The Morgan and the Believers have nearly completed the Merchant Exchange. I think something should be done this turn about that.

Now for the Ocean of Knowledge himself, the Provost Zakharov (cooperative). He says he is quite busy. Oh, I'm so sorry, Professor. Will you share some of your precious drops of knowledge with us? We will reciprocate in kind of course.

North gun foil (the easternmost) sighted a pod and popped an Isle of Deep. The gun foil attacked, was also victorious and became veteran.

The Spartans just made a beach landing two clicks east of Seaview.

Miriam wants to talk to us. I accept the call.
The Believers have completed the 2-1-2 recon rover units. (We might want to compete in some friendly races.) Miriam demands Optical Computer at once.
— I require at least a payment of 25 credits.
— I cannot afford this price, she says.
— I'm sorry, no check, no tech.
— I am disturbed by your unwillingness to cooperate, Commander Garland, says this good shepherd.

I offer her a treaty with no incentive other than my goodwill, she says her friendship is to be earned, and tells me goodbye.
