        This shows one reason why AC has a harder time catching on than Civilization!

        I was even browsing the SMAC Academy file on the alphax.txt, so I saw Algorithmic Enhancement (in fine print). It obviously was close enough to Polymorphic Encryption that I assumed that was what we were discussing.

        While you can give polymorphic encryption to a probe unit, it seems useless

        So to answer belanca's original question, put in the special ability algorithmic enhancement, not polymorphic encryption.

          For all my talk about Morgan, I don't play him much, so I decided to up and play a Morgan game on SMAniaC. My first game was on a normal planet and I was just putting up bases one after another. The cult was next to me and ended up boxing me in. I couldn't make the weather paradigm. I think the Drones beat me to it. They started on it quick... Anyway, I didn't feel like going across the world to get it, and the -2 support was killing me. I forgot Morgan doesn't start with 50 creds on SMAniaC. So I started on a huge map with lots of rain and fungus. Once again the Cult ended up near me and we to war right away. I reversed a probe and made a couple 2-1-1 rovers and was going over and they sued for peace. They only had once city. Anyway, I left them alone and they ended up getting bigger and fighting with Miriam clear on the other side of Planet who is going to war with me and she is Govenor. Go figure. So the Cult ends up staying at peace with me for the entire game so far, even tho Cha is seething. I run a green, so... Anyway Dierdre was on an island to the north of me and she had no offensive units.

          "ROTFLOL, Here's a joule. Comlink someone who cares."
          So I made 2 6r-1-2 rovers and an armor probe to send over. I'm halfway there and she gives in and surrenders to me! I have rivalry set to high, so this surprises me. 3 free techs and 1096 credits. Talk about a win...
          The Cyborgs were supposed to be in the game, but either they got mindwormed or captured, but I have the restart on, so I don't know what happened to them. The Drones and the Angels have been fighting back and forth on the South Pole on 2 tiny island, so not much there.

          So anyway what I learned is that armor 0-2rt-1 or 0-3rt-1 probes are essential for Morgan's defense. Kinda makes sense that he just hires "Security" and doesn't have a real standing army most of the time. -2 support on SMAniaC is just an absolute expansion stopper. I never did go police state or junta until a little bit in, mainly because I needed tech. So now I'm running Unitary Demo, Protectionist, Junta, Green. The -3 industry is slowing military production, but I can afford all the new facilities, so I pretty much am completely built up while I expand. Probably too slow for a PvP match, but there you go.
