  • Guide your faction to galactic domination!

We in the Civ4 MP community have been setting up something new a Diplo Pitboss game. Diplo is short for diplomacy, these games revolve around story and diplomacy, that are posted on the forum or done in emails revealed after the game. As a spin off of this we have also started the Second Pitboss Game, which will be played with the Final Frontier mod, a nice addition of the Beyond the Sword expansion. The mod’s Achilles heel is the poor AI which doesn’t understand many of the changes.

We currently have room for two more players, this is an opportunity to revive a SMAC faction and talk about it in story.

Several of the factions have powers analogues to the SMAC factions: We have a faction that revolves around profiting from trade routes, we have a faction focused on conquest, we have a faction focused on research, we have a authoritarian state, ect. In this thread I would encourage discussion of which FF factions are the galactic equivalent of the factions of planet, which are those that merely need to be renamed to fit to SMAC and which are those who would need to be moded.

Religion of the normal game has been replaced by values: Survival, Power, Wealth, Knowledge, Religion
Do I even need to say how this can translate well into a good story about a space faring faction that left planet?
As I have said there is still room for two players in the FF pitboss diplo game… if there is enough interest we will do another SMAC factions only game, with a detailed backstory to the game and perhaps even develop a mod to make FF more like a galactic SMAC.

Well I suppose there is no interest in story writting here...
