Was there anything else special about that interceptor unit? It seemed to beat my units far more than any regular psi warfare would account for. At the end my units were invariably elite, I had the dream twister and neural amplifier , a plus 5 planet rating AND I tried all of the empath, blink and wave abilities-- all that and I don't ever recall an air unit of mine killing an undamaged interceptor of that type

Right-- Lilith -- I enjoyed that one-- The map really made it so that each AI was a distinct campaign

Here is the line from the alphax.txt file for this unit:

      Fighter Escort Mk2, Needlejet,R-Bolt, Psi, 1, 3, 0, Space, -1, 10000000010000000000100100

It has the Disassociative Wave special ability, which fizzles other special abilities. This probably accounts for what you were experiencing.

I had 43 units in this specific alphax.txt. What I recall tending towards here was seeing if I could get the AIs to build more "better" units, or at least limit the number of dumb units they designed and manufactured. This seemed to work, and sort of served the best of both worlds in that the AI performed better, and the humans still were able to build their own set of unique units that they deemed necessary in this environment they found themselves in (i.e. the humans still had access to the Design Workshop).
