  • Funny pics aka know as the immense stupidity of the AI

"Uhoh, Aki prolly won't notice a teeny-weeny colony pod, so let's give it a try".

After several years of peaceful vendetta Domai send his finest troops

Could have worked if it wasn't for the missile chopper two clicks to the north

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

This game is actually quite close to make me insane - that damn interceptor bug makes the program crash almost every time my choppers strike - waste a lot of missiles on that account.

Yes, it is sad when the AI pulls up with a single transport with obsolete troops - or a colony pod!

I guess I haven't been afflicted with the interceptor bug. How does this occur?

You peacefully attacks some enemy unit with a chopper or an airplane and the evil opponent scrambles an interceptor to protect it and then the program crashes.

I'm not sure, but I think that it is connected to playing on very large maps (current game is on a 512x320).

It happens to me as well. Sometimes I have to scrap the game because it happens on the AI vs AI or I have to attack the scrambled unit directly.

I haven't experienced the interceptor bug for several years. Post #6 in this thread suggests that it may be related to using a screen resolution of 1024x768.

BlackCat: What was your screen resolution in the above game?

Also noteworthy in the above thread (a good read in any case) is Firaxis' reply in post #8: They were never able to reproduce the bug, so they couldn't fix it.

Yeah, I use that resolution, but post # 138 in that thread says that it apparently doesn't have any influence .

About post #8, well, I'm a programmer too and have had several weird faults in my time of such - I find it strange that even with lots of reports and examples they weren't able to reproduce it. Actually, I had the problem a year or two ago and you were able to reproduce it on your computer from a save from me

" Aki is a nice person so she will prolly not harm a little transporter with a cute probe if I try to sneak it past those three missile cruisers despite we have had a vendetta the last 50 years or so".

Well, I had a couple of rounds of old gunpowder I had to get rid of
