SMAC/X images & concept art lost?

When browsing for SMAC/X wallpapers and concept art I get the impression that there used to be a lot of very nice and detailed images available. Many links are dead and sometimes I am only able find thumbnails of seemingly lost high quality artwork.

Can anyone help me procuring some of this lost material?

I managed to find the 1024x768 size wallpapers for the original factions on the internet. There was also a 1280x1024 size. But its much harder to find.
