Cannot Win/Finish/Transcend-why?

Hi all.

I'm trying to finish and win my first game-and I can't.

I built the Voice of Planet, but for many years now, there remains no Transcend secret project available to build.

Why is this?

What do I have to do to make the Transcend secret project become available?

btw-I double checked by starting a new game with the same customized rules, and yes, Transcend and all victory options are enabled.

What am I missing, or do I have a bad copy of SMAC?

DMJ,

I know that you referred to SMAC, but do you possibly have SMAX (Alien Crossfire)? If you do have SMAX and are playing as the Caretakers, that's the problem. The Caretakers cannot transcend.

If you're playing SMAC, then do the following (just to make sure that victory by transcendence is allowed):

* Open the scenario editor (Ctrl - K).
* From the Menu, select SCENARIO, Edit Custom Rules.
* On the resulting screen, verify that Higher Goal: Allow Victory by Transcendence is checked.

If none of this helps, please post a game save from after you built the Voice of Planet. I'll be glad to take a look.

It's highly unlikely that this problem is caused by a bad copy of the game.
