  • Problem with TCP/IP Multiplayer

I'm trying to join a game hosted by a friend, but upon joining his multiplayer screen freezes and he receives a timeout message after a few seconds, and then disconnects.

All the ports the game requires are open, and it's odd, because another friend of us manages to join and play games with him. Also, when he tries to join games I open, it says "Game not found", but my router isn't blocking him.

We both have SMACX 2.0 with the XP patch.

    Thanks for whoever helps.

Perhaps your windows firewall is the one blocking him.

A word of advice: TCP/IP is quite buggy, but with simultaneous movement, it's almos unplayable. You still save an enormous load of time, as any action short of unit movement can be performed in other player's turn.

I have experience in TCP/IP in the past (Simulations turns), and me and my friends quite enjoyed it.

We both don't have firewalls (With my only having a router). The odd thing, I can join another friend's game without problem.
