  • Discussed everything? nah. suggestion...

Well now, the last surviving smac forum (that I know of) and no threads? oh the shame. Yes, I have returned.

n00bs always have things to learn, but why make them dig through the archives? let someone more knowledgable than myself write an article (complete with archive links) to everything about everything. Perhaps a smac Wiki? Anyone up for it?

Now, would someone please tell me what I have missed for the past six months...?

    . . . cricket chirps . . .

I see. How is the civ4 mod coming along? afraid I only have a semi-functional copy of Express c++, due to attempting hacking it for DX9 SDK compatibility, so I won't be of much help.

also, let me take this opportunity to spread some personal propaganda...

    bungie.net

    yngwie.org

that is all. anyone have anything to add?

hmm I believe chaos theopry did a "Thread of threads" that was very comprehensive and had dozens of links to some of the best threads on the game.

As for a wiki-- its a lot of work for marginal utility. Most things someone could ask, they can post a thread and get an answer out of someones head within a day and the mere asking often provokes discussion and teaches someone taht may have lost the point if it were buried in a big encyclopedic volume

I believe any resource that attempts to unify the aggregate data that has been discussed here would:

        a) Duplicate a great deal of effort Vel put into his guide.
        b) Still be incomplete.
        c) Exacerbate the problem of killing discussion on this board.

Yup. Folks here like it when some new person (or old timer) posts a question on even the most basic features of the game. It gives us the ability to discuss the game and perhaps learn something new in the discussion.
