  • 5 files missing

    Hi!
I own the german version of SMAC (and SMACX), but am missing 5 voice/tech*.mp3 files due to scratches on the CD.

    Those files are:
    cp: reading `dvd/voices/tech46.mp3': Input/output error
    cp: reading `dvd/voices/tech47.mp3': Input/output error
    cp: reading `dvd/voices/tech48.mp3': Input/output error
    cp: reading `dvd/voices/tech49.mp3': Input/output error
    cp: reading `dvd/voices/tech52.mp3': Input/output error

Can someone please give me those files (german version)?
If you want (and know a working method) I can prove that I really own the german SMAC.
PM me for the location please (open-for-everyone upload would be illegal I think).

    Thank you a lot!

If you want these files just to be able to play SMAC, you can use any other mp3 file as pattern. Copy tech45.mp3 multiple times, then rename each copy to tech46.mp3, tech47.mp3 and so on.

      Thanks for the tip.
But actually I'd really like to have the correct files, because of atmosphere and so on...

Ah, I'd send you the English files but I don't have the German version.

Just out of curiosity, in the German version are the Nietzche and Kant quotes taken straight from the books/essays?

          Don't know that, sorry.
And as I currently can't install it, I am somewhat stuck.
And I haven't got the books or essays so I couldn't compare it.
          Sorry.

np, would I get in trouble for posting a link to a [pseudo-illegal] download?

Thanks to the awesome support of EA I just got a new CD (without scratches ).
I wouldn't want to try to post such a link.

While Electronic Arts' record of dealings with their own employees is somewhat suspect, I don't think I've ever heard any reports of them maltreating their customers.
