  • Cornering Global Market and Energy Crashes

Im currently playing a Morgan game and experiencing a long time frustration. I wanted to corner the global market, that in my game costs around 34 000 credits. The thing is, I was with 18 000 credits when my old enemy crashes: "Energy Market Crash. Credits reduced to 4232".

It seems that everytime Im with a high energy reserve, the Market crashes. It's frustrating, undeserving, and pathetic. Please, is there a way to eliminate Energy Market Crash and still remain with my savegame?

i know the simplest would be to use the scenario editor to turn off random events but if you're wanting your score kept i'm not sure.

The reason it's happening is because you're probably in the number 1 position and after hoarding your ec for so long the game is trying to bring you back down to the other factions levels. If you want to avoid it another way you could plough all your ec into alot more bases and facilities, soon you'll be generating 10k per turn and won't really need to worry about the crash.
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

Thanks for the reply. After a couple of Energy Market Crashes, I was still able to get back and corner the global market in M.Y. 2381 (it takes 20 turns from the moment you corner the global market until it reaches the victory state a.k.a the end).
