Running SMAC in windows xp

OK I am sure that i have ran SMAC in xp before without any patches with no problems. Now though it will start but ther is a big black CIRCLE around my curser. Not sure if it is a problem with video card it is a radeon x800 xt

Have you downloaded the XP compatabitly patch?

Ya that did nothing except give me that incampatable cpu error

Assuming that you worked around the CPU not Supported error (if not, the answer is in the FAQ), you might want to experiment using different options on the Compatibility tab (right-click SMAC shortcut, select Properties, then Compatibility tab).

Just want to let people know just if someone else has this problem what i did was add DirectDraw=0 to the ini file. Thanks for the halp
