  • Odd problem with cultists

    When I start a new game as Cultists, it starts in 2106, and I don't see the animation of the ship landing. Anyone have any idea why? I looked in fungboy.txt, it doesn't think they are an alien faction, I thought that might be the cause. It doesn't do it with the other factions, they start in 2101 as usual.

    Due to backstory the planet cult is supposed to get a late start, since it's leader was supposed to be raised on Planet.

          It's hardcoded to the fungboy string I believe. If you rename fungboy.txt and add that faction as a custom faction to the game, I believe they'll just start on 2101 like everyone else.

            Having found nothing inside the faction txt I thought of that, but discarded the idea for being too sloppy. Oh Firaxis, so great at design, so... not elegant at programming.

              If you play as the Cult, it's true that the game begins in MY 2106. However, all the other factions also start in 2106. OTOH, if the Cult is one of the AI factions, then you start in MY 2101 but the Cult doesn't show up until MY 2106. (If the Aliens are in the game, then they behave similar to the Cult.)
