i can't wait till next turn, delayed transcendance a few turns to go for singularity and i'll have just under 1 PB per base for Lal. Make a really big crater in planet, rush transcendance and get out of there before another mass of sea rises annoys me.
Theres not as much land in the annexed zones due to 2000m of sea rises, my landmass is substantially larger then what was started with though.
Forgot to build drop pods at every base and cover planet aswell to go for a nice high score ...

It's from a PBEM game me and 2 players starting normally whilst the 4 AI had some boosts, bout 30-35 sats each total, terraforming and jungle, hence why they were getting most of the early and some mid game projects. (not EG though, that was disabled so it took along time for me to actually meet anybody)
I could have probably quite easily conquered planet 20turns ago, but this was one of my earlier PBEMS and i've never been this far into one so it was nice to see the end stage stuff and my estimated transcend time of 2226 isn't too bad considering the fights, sea rises and at one stage almost 8000years of sanctions.
As for patience yeah each turn was atleast an hour and normally 1hr 30mins even moving at quick pace, i really get sick when trying to do those in SP but one every other day isn't so bad.

I was surprised it was a PBEM -- any game I ever had where I was anywhere near being dominant, the other players simply resigned. I have never had a PBEM where I was THAT dominant (although I have transcended)
I asked about the AIs sicne I generally find that the more boosted the AI, the more likely you are to be able to have a quicker victory-- I find the AI actually might have research speed where its actually worthwhile to trade or steal form them -- or make them submissive

Not a single trade or treaty that game cata, probably the reason for my grumpiness as for submissive, i had to put up with about 200 hundred "you are an inhuman monster etc etc" since i had a few .. dozen ... blemishes on the atrocity list
I stole a few techs, hardly a worthwhile count since you can obviously appreciate the distances involved (AI had plenty of probe cruisers aswell with being tweaked) by the time i got to them i was pretty much tech parity, the only AI who at my attackin stage had more techs was Lal and he had the hunter seeker by 2165ish

Well i definately didn't start with any formers, terraforming nor special area so iirc just standard issue, some pods nd scouts. Personally i don't consider that too be super big i've done bigger when i've went for high scores

You might have seen a screenshot where i was asking about eco damage, since i had a base with 16mins doing damage and bases with 50 not.

i'm sure he'll appreciate that sentiment when he reads it 2moro and my luck must be rubbing off on him, was getting a few pointers on how to play Uni, within a few turns theres the usual reply "ffs fungal bloom 3 squares from Uni HQ"

It's very difficult to compare both strats when well executed imo, AI, pods etc could play a massive part but if you remove them then you could be disadvantaging one style more then the other.
