  • A little question about planetbusters

I rarely build them and the only time I used them was between save-load, I never needed them in my games. But I wonder though if having few of them in your possession would reduce AI's willingness to use their own busters against you?

I normally feel it's the opposite, though other then getting the "planet will unite behind me" message I couldn't say for certain that it has an effect either way.
The only things that do seem to affect their willingness to use them are being set to blatantly commit atrocities or you using them yourself.

I remember I saw it mentioned in the Vel's guide and it's been bugging me since, but I guess I'll have to play with scenario editor to find out if there's anything to it.

I wish the AI was that realistic and competent but alas not.

I've never been planet busted by the AI, and haven't built planet busters more than a few times. Whether the two things are related or not I don't know.

I remember taking a sick delight the first time the AI used a planetbuster against me, it was shot down by an ODP but still it was the thought that counted

You let an AI get advanced enough to PB you, Lazarus? My, you're getting mellow on you old day.

I remember in one of my first games, Miriam busted my HQ. Which had ALL my special projects in. Man, I was not happy. I think I reloaded and wiped her out.

To think, in all these years I had quite a bit of nukes being thrown my way, mostly by Miriam. The last time I remember I didn't even had ODP's, good thing that base in question had a flechette.
