Have you any proposal to not being run over in that situation ?
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I always turn off unity scattering. It seems unrealistic to me.
You can find thousands of credits and enough minerals in these things to finish so many projects. How can one space ship hold that much energy and minerals? Especially one that blew up and crash landed on the planet.

Senethro-Nope, I'm not even near the Nexus. I'm either by the Freshwater Lake or the Borehole Cluster and I still get the +1. Weird.

So absolutely no chance that one of your bases is closest to the Nexus?? I seem to recall getting the Nexus bonus even before I was necessarily aware that the nexus was in my territory.
I'm at a loss to explain it otherwise.

I've often set my SE more in regards to what will make my neighbors happier while building than for it's own effects in early game.
The only problem with that approach is when you have Yang on one border and Mirriam on the other.

Nah, that's no problem - make friend with Miriam and wipe out Yang. That's the easy part - the difficult is to get strength enough to whack Miriam before she looses her temper (what is it with redhaired chicks ? )

I usually stay free market most of the game with uni changing to knowledge for a little extra boost. Drones make it very hard if you go that way but the extra research makes up for what you have to put in psych activites I've found. If I reach a tech lead I may go to planned but not nessecarily by then I've usually have enough stuff to counteract the drones and the efficienly loss is very very bad at that point.
A university faculty is 500 egoists with a common parking problem
Currently trying planned economy with the cyborgs...very stable game, actually I'm still in the tech lead, and have the most powerful economy...
The nice thing about planned is that you actually get an advantage for attacking mindworms...with free market, you only get 20% attack advantage, compared to 50%...you're better off just leaving trance unit in each base and playing defense...
Also, I can actually lead military campaigns and support missiles and PBs...very nice...
Once I get that +1 Planet shiz-nite, I'll post it for you....I only play Ironman so...my bad....for those in the know.
