  • AutoDesign units in Multiplayer

Whenever I'm playing a multiplayergame over a TCPIP network, the game automatically designs a whole load of units whenever a new armor, weapon or special ability is discovered.

I have Autodesign units off. How can i fix this, it is annoying the hell out of me!

Don't play with people who use auto-design.

I played a TCP/IP with my friend only we both had auto design off. It was autodesigning still. I think TCP/IP has a hundred more bugs like that. It was one of the most annoying things. We had to resrve special time for cleaning...

exactly, we both had it off Sikander, it just keeps designing, and actually upgrades units too, can u imagine how annoying it is to hear that half ur treasury was just spent upgrading ur 3pulse garrisons to 3res garrisons when native life is on rare!

Does anyone know howto shut it off in PBEM?
It keeps designing even if I do.

I've never had any game upgrade units already in existence without my explicit approval, though it frequently tries to upgrade units in production.

In PBEM, I've never had trouble keeping my unit list under control. When I get a new reactor, a bunch of worthless units appear on the list and some useful ones are obsoleted, but other advances don't create units for me.

I hate auto-design and auto-prune-- IN PBEMs it never seemed to be an issue if ALL players turned it off IIRC.

I believe though that when you open a turn, your setting would be the same as the palyer before you that passed you the turn. So if ANYONE in the game turns on the auto-design, the feature will stay on until someone turns it off again.

I think thats the way it works and I believe its the same for other annoying settings like automatically investigating all monoliths or aircraft automatically returning to base

Well that sucks. I've had this problem in PBEM MP, where we both preferred different settings, but I have never played TCP / IP mode.
