SMAC doesn't work on newer CPU's?

I install SMAC/X on my newish computer (hadn't gotten around to it yet), and it tells me "Your cpu is not supported. You may attempt to play the game anyway; however, crashes are possible." and then promptly quits to desktop. Can it not handle hyperthreading, or something?

In your Alpha Centauri.ini file, change the line

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=0 to

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

or add the line if not already present. See the topped faq thread for more info.

I'll have to keep that in mind, whenever I upgrade. I have an Athalon 2600 + , ran perfect out of the box. I guess that processor isn't new anymore.
