How much do you use probe teams?

I use probe teams to do just about everything. The only probe team action I don't think I have done yet is gene warfare...

I almost never use other units for offense and rarely use units for defense except the occasional interceptor scrambling for defense...

The only offensive I might use is missiles, but they are a pain with free market and trigger pacifism, so they must be used the turn they are made...

I might use them if for some reason I don't have infiltration and I want to find out about someone. My last game I never had infiltration. But it was a peaceful game, so I never bothered to get it.

Morgan basically has to live off them with synth or better armor for everything, at least until clean or whatnot.

They constitute my main defense in SP against the AI in the early game. They are sufficient the vast majority of the time.
