Are there any major graphics mods to this game?

I love this game, but I tired of the dreary graphics. I'm curious if anyone has ever done a major overhaul to the graphics.

Well, I'm sure the libraries here at apolyton have some of those. The problem is finding the libraries. Then the other problem is praying hard enough to make them work. There was this one thing I was looking for. Man, first I prayed to god, then I prayed to Budha, then Santa Claus. I think it was with some crocodile cannibal I heard as the god for those weird people in Vanuatu or whatever that finally did the trick. Then the Internet froze. I'm still trying to figure out what Satan did that one. You know, I think I might try Zen...

Seriously, though, I have heard the aldebran patch or whatever is a good one, but I think it changes the whole game. While I haven't used them, I know there are many graphic mods around. If you don't find one, you could always use the color blind patch...

You aren't likely to find anything that mods the unit graphics themselves since they use the elusive CaViaR 3d image file type...

what about the tiles. That's what I'm most concerned about. That dark dreary look. I turned up the brightness which helps, but I want more.

gwillybj did a nice job of compiling all graphics mods threads into one thread located here .

I really like the "smacdrab" color pallette - no more glaring pink for me!
FYI and hope this helps in your search.
btw if anyone has some alternative art for the Unity Wreckage I'm really interested in seeing it: I"m looking for something along the lines of an abandoned/ "destroyed" city.

okay thanks. i've already tried the drab terrain graphics. I like them, though I'm not sure I like the fungus part of it. It's kind of hard to tell what's fungus or not
