  • Why, WHY, WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I had to uninstall my Alpha Centauri, and am now trying to reinstall. EVERY SINGLE TIME I try and reinstall the game, I get a popup error about autoexec.nt being inappropriate to run MS-DOS or Windows programs. I can Close or Ignore, but Ignore just CLoses, too. What the @#$% is happening?

I'm running a P4 with Windows XP home edition. And I've had no problems with this prior.

someone else had the same problem. Turned out that autoexec.nt wasn't in the System32 folder. Moving it there fixed the problem.

I wouldn't want anyone to be deprived of SMAC goodness.

I actually had no problems installing SMAC on my XP pro machine. Maybe it only affects certain systems.

Actually, I think it's another great frell-up brought to us by Service Pack 2.
