Computers can sort of mimic learning by trial and error when they are given an algorithm by which to rate their own performance
    '

Best is to treat them like infants. I mean, you can expect infants to know what went wrong when they failed the University quantum physics exam right?

So, teach the computer fundamentals...code the instincts in...then they will learn how to learn better...feedback loop.
Arise ye starvelings from your slumbers; arise ye prisoners of want
The reason for revolt now thunders; and at last ends the age of "can't"
Away with all your superstitions -servile masses, arise, arise!
We'll change forthwith the old conditions And spurn the dust to win the prize

Hey - an idea came to me!

Maybe we make a "tech comparison" thread where we discuss, which techs of SMAC/X we already have here on earth!
-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.
-- Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
