Inertial Damping and Glabal Energy Theory were to techs (24 and 70) that were deleted before the game was released, however there quotes are still in the blurbs file and the voices folder. The also have icon files in the tech folder, but Inertial Damping is the same as Singularity Mechanics and Global Energy Theory is the same as Sentient Econometrics.Last edited by Qwerty88; June 16, 2004, 01:54.Are you safe from the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide? Okay, so I found the techs on my own a long time ago, but never actually new what they were supposed to do. And now I know. Well, I thought Global Energy Theory might have been a former idea for adaptive economics, but anyway, why was this thread found? I don't understand the question, or the answer.

I'm wondering if anyone found a way to re-integrate them into the game, like adding tech flags and requirements, or changing requirments on things to require them. Are you safe from the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide? Learn more at www.DHMO.org.

I'v used thouse empty slots to create whole new Tecnologies from scratch and integrated them into the tec tree, I've loaded my own Glyphs and used recycled blurbs like the "Energy is the Currency of the Future" on by Morgan. I would imagine that nearly anything is possible with enough Alpha editing and supporting media changes.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. However their presumed effects cannot be added. Inertial Dampening should obviously provide a special ability flag which would grant immunity to artillery attacks, or a *100 multiplier against them.SMAC/X FAQ | Chiron Archives

I am sure that it wasn't. Designers haven't even thought about EXP, and blurbs for these techs are not close to NSC or AE.SMAC/X FAQ | Chiron Archives

I've never seen a tech refer to a tech level, and after searching the blurbs, techlongs, and techshorts files I only found 20 in the tech/SP/facility numbers, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and 20th century Earth. Plus the tech level = 1+the highest level of a prerequisit techAre you safe from the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide? Learn more at www.DHMO.org.

From techlongs.txt:
##Transcendent Thought
#TECH88
Based on [Controlled Singularity (C16)] and
[Threshold of Transcendence (E19)], this technology
finally unlocks the keys to the final stage of
evolution with {Transcendent Thought}--the
ability to contain a self-awareness, or ‘soul’,
outside the bounds of a corporeal form. Those
who so choose may now complete the Ascent to
Transcendence, joining their consciousness with
the Planetary mind in ageless immortality.
Take that!

That says E19 not D20, if you'd of said it was a level 19 my search would have found it, plus you said blurbs, that's in the techlongs file, the descricptions of the research behind the tech. Are you safe from the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide? Learn more at www.DHMO.org.
