I've long believed there would be a convergence between affluence and environmentalism.
Environmentalists believe it, themselves, in fact, although a few don't seem to understand that costly Marxist redistributive policies only increase affluence in one place by reducing it even more somewhere else.
There's another point-of-view, too, that of the Populist Left ... here's something I might expect Foreman Domai to say about Hebden Bridge:
"Hebden Bridge represents the ultimate form of environmentalist gentrification: only people with information jobs can afford to live there because they're the only ones allowed to work there. Cast miners need not apply."
