I am very sorry, but I have always been a little perturbed by the flags that are next to people's screennames of posters on apolyton. I understand that the flag is meant to represent the country in which the poster resides. I also understand that, contrary to the belief of many American high-school students, Europe is not a country. Other people seem to have gone to the other extreme: Wales has not been a country for a little while now, either. However, people live in Europe, and people (in fact, some of the same people) live in Wales. People, to my knowledge, do not live in the United Nations. (Except me, of course.)

    What up with that?
Who exactly lives in the United Nations? If you are a hobo and you sleep in front of the U.N. building, does that count?

Its just a standard pack of flags that comes with the forum software.

Questions of this sort are best raised in the Apolyton/Community Forum, where the owners and moderators see them.

Some people would prefer to use the European flag over their national flag, so they do. Certain people consider themselves a resident of Wales rather than the UK, so they use the welsh flag instead. Not like I know anything about that...

Then there are some people like Spamski, who just pick a random flag that looks cool. No way you live in St. Pierre/Miquelon

Of course, any thread in the community forum asking the admin to modify the list of flags is doomed to failure. Dooomed!!!

I use Cocos Island so I can raise thier average postcount per person to an insanely high amount.

I'm ashamed of the country I live in.

I just like my flag with the tree in it. I like trees. You could say I'm a tree hugger.

I've never met a cute tree though.

Who needs flags when you can have a neat new avatar?
                  EDIT:

Well the EU is rapidly becoming a "country like thing" ofcorse the flag of the particular member state would be more informative.

My biggest wish is that people actualy use the Flag of the Country they are IN or FROM. I have often started asking someone about their Home Country only to discover their not from or in that country. This is higly anoying. Furthur more using the correct Flag will help others know your time zone and make comunications easier.

Imp: Time translations are under the avatars.

The other points are good, though.

EDIT: Or to the right of the Avatars, it depends...

You are not a tree hugger. I don't see you enter the Gaian team. Tree huggers don't go join the evil spartans.

Not so rapidly as you seem to think, Impaler. And hopefully it won't happen too fast.

I admit, I'm not from Norfolk Island

It was only recently I found out where the hell Norfolk Island is.

                              you got me

I still like trees though. But the gaians are just too wimpy.
