I think I should try for a slightly larger map. 'Small' map can get a bit crowded especially when using my disadvantaged custom faction. Still thinking of using blind tech, I seem to grow fond of it.

Well, I’ve played a few more OCC games and come to the conclusion that this is not the game for me. I just don’t have the temperament for it I think. I’m a builder type for one thing, and hate, and I mean really hate it when factions extort credits, and tech. I used to even write down who did what to me, and then of course made them pay dearly when I was ready to strike. I favor orbital insertion as a way of attack, with Drop AAA Rovers or Tanks and the game is usually over in a turn or two.

I can’t believe how much rage this game can bring out in me sometimes. The other day I had a great game going. Lal and I were Pact mates for most of the game. We had taken most of the others out the game, and then he says, “You are of no use to me anymore, time for you to die”. Or words to that effect. I can’t tell you how pleasing it was to wipe him off the face of the planet. I would not accept his surrender, and then finally nuked him.

Today I defeated and accepted two factions surrender. I gave them some bases and all my tech at the time. Then some other faction framed me for a probe, and I had to do it all over again.

I guess these are the things that I love about the game to. Well, all accept the probe team part. I really hate that, and never do it. I consider it to be the lowest of the low weasly thing about the game. I wish you could remove it from the game to be honest.

I suppose you could stop probes from being built, by editing the alpha.txt, but I wouldn't know how. Anyway, defending against probes is part of the fun
