Unfortunately, I have never been to a foreign country. I do want to go there however. A lot of Australian students come to UH and all of them are real nice....they say the Australian culture is very warm and friendly so I want to go over there and experience it firsthand.

Does your gf know you have her face plastered (in a rather awkward pose to be honest) as your avatar on Apolyton? If my gf/bf did that for me, I'd be pissed off.

FWIW: I think she looks pretty in that picture, no reason for her to be upset IMHO.

Actually she , as i see it, quite flattered that I want to "show her off".

I also happen to think it's quite a flattering photo.

you should know better than to think i'd be insulting you like that.

Frankly, I imagined I probably took it the wrong way.

But even though that sterotype exists, doesn't mean you should use it like you did, since coming that way, it did come off insulting.

There are stereitypes, and you can joke about them. But if you say something along the lines of "I know I drink, but I'm not a drunken russian after all" would be insulting.

I do accept however that you didn't mean harm.
