      • Last sunday was Patrimony Day, and every National Monument (including the ones that cannot be visited regulary) were opened to the public, free of charge.

I went with my dad to the Brunet Castle, a very old building that now uphold the general headquarters of Carabineros. It's an amazing castle with an incredible view of the city. Then we walked a few blocks and arrived to the Presidencial Palace of Cerro Castillo, which is the summer (and sometimes weekend) residence of the President. It occupies a big space in the Castillo Hill, with lots of outdoor space, a huge tennis court and a incredible terrace, from which I was able to see the most southern hill of Valparaíso and the last peninsula of Quintero in the far north. The entire Bay of Valparaíso... amazing!!
Inside it's very elegant and sober, a real 'Republican' building. I even got to see the Presidencial Office, although only from the door and really, really fast. The Presidencial Guards didn't want the line to be stoped... not even for the 'Chilean President'

Well too much blabla... here are the pics.

Me at the front of the Presidencial Residence

        Getting near the entrance...

My... ehmm... the President's private office

View to the north district of Viña, from the terrace.

Wulff Sea Musseum of Natural History

The last two are from the Brunet Castle.

        Hope you like them

These guys that talk about themselves in the third person...

The museum and castle look like they could be shots out of Myst.

It looks like the hull of a ship. I have no idea where the rest is or why it it would be green, though.
                    Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

                    • Didn't you know that chile was colonized by settlers that sailed in from the sea in giant hollowed-out cucumbers? I's simply a tribute to their glorious past

Edit: Oh, great pics btw, makes me want to visit chile one day.

This space is empty... or is it?

                          Indeed
IIRC is a model made with a part of a ship that sank, that's why it's green.
