    Simply: Saying 'middle' was redundant.

    Expanding: Of course you meant middle of the picture, but it read as if you were saying he was the one in middle of the group of people, of which he was the only one, which causes the redundant overuse of descriptive words with regard to who your friend was.

    Finally, it was a joke.

    Thanks. Hehe, well the climate in Bergen is much more wet than in Lillehammer, and -5 in Bergen is colder than -5 in Lillehammer, but no more than -10 I'd estimate. And as said, it's seldom it's that cold. Most of the time it's above or around zero.
