Is this a family site or should it be considered an adult site?

The OT has different rules than the rest of the site. Which is part of the reason why the OT doesn't have Google Adsense on it. Adsense has a code of conduct we will stick to on all forums which display those ads. (There may be other rules on top of that, such as discussing posters.)
The Site Feedback site is not the OT. It is on-topic and will be moderated as on-topic forums are. The rules for on-topic are to promote friendly discussion, as well as to restrict content that would cause issues with advertisers. Posts which threaten Apolyton being able to pay for itself will disappear.

Its good you removed my quote of the post in the Barbaric OT, it was pretty foul. So, words such as the one removed in this forum aren't to be on the google advertisers pages but are okay for children?Long time member @ Apolyton

Parents are responsible for what they let their children see online. There are some places on Apolyton a parent probably shouldn't let their child read. There are other places that would be fine. I'm not going to try to raise everyone's children for them, especially because no matter how hard I tried, I never could change Apolyton to be more than a couple clicks away from all manners of terrible things. That's just how the internet is.

Originally posted by Lancer View PostSure, you're right about that Aeson. However sites with such content have warnings and people have to click a statement that they are over 18 in order to enter. Are you going to comply with the laws that force such sites to do this?
vB has a 13+ legal compliance built in, so I'd assume it's functional for Apolyton. (I've never tried to sign up as < 13 years of age.) If not we can enable it to comply with laws.
In any case, I'd hope you would not post content you find offensive yourself, especially when you are posting it in areas where it's expressly restricted.

i think you've adequately made your point, Lancer. I'm sure Aeson will take your concern into consideration. i really don't see what pressing the issue further is going to accomplish, so maybe have a cocktail and play some civ, in the mean time?I wasn't born with enough middle fingers.
