Could you possibly be any more dull-witted? I doubt it. Take a deep breath, and try something new. THINK.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Should have never gotten rid of the Mac Civ specific sub-forum. Tsk-tsk. Steve plays hard-ball.
Seriously though, I've always enjoyed Apoly over the years. I'm sure things will get sorted. I'll be sure to pass on any Mac Civ5 news! Whenever...there...is...some."What did you learn in school today, dear little boy of mine?

I must say that I don't hang around as much as I used to. Sad truth is that Poly just isn't what it was. I have been dropping by to see what is happening with Civ V, but have been once again disappointed.
Here is hoping that this RL meeting of the owners puts some life back into things around here. It is good to see a lot of familiar faces however!
One thing is funny...seeing Ming finally criticizing the things wrong here instead of just saying "Deal with it!" If that change can happen, then maybe there is hope afterall..."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Im still wondering if Ming had his Admin title "Stipped" By Dan and Solver or if he stepped down voluntarily. I wouldn't doubt the former and i would hope its the latter.

Both rah and I stepped down voluntarily at the same time Dan did to allow the new administration to do their own thing.
We had done our time for the community, and felt it was in ours and the new administrations best interest to part ways with the site.
So it was indeed the latter...Keep on Civin'

For the front page, I'd additionally suggest some sort of time-out mechanism for the News Centre, as right now there are news bits from 2007 still on the front page "News Centre" - certainly not current news anymore. Civilization V also needs its own section, not being relegated to part of "Miscellaneous". Ideally the most visible section.
That's assuming the structure isn't entirely changed. If my calculations are correct, the meeting Robert mentioned is today, which means likely an announcement before the weekend. So unless Firaxis drops some huge news before this weekend, I suppose it's time to wait and see what is announced later this week .

It's nice to see that you have big plans... and yeah, it's going to be a lot of work to get them all in place as we move forward to the release date. PUT PLEASE, don't make the same mistake as others in the past by doing NOTHING while waiting for those big changes.
It is still unbelievable that there is not a single mention of Civ V on the home page.
There are some little things you can do to prepare for the bigger changes. Every day closer to the release date that nothing is done is another lost opportunity.Keep on Civin'

I don't think poly is ready at all. Just look at our bland and uninteresting front page compared with CFC's front page which is packed with information; they have official civ related news, info on the latest mods, current democracy games & competitions, screen shots which are changed regularly (often daily), and all the links you need to jump directly into the forum you're looking for. One click and you're there.
In short their layout catches the eye of the casual browser and makes it easy to pull them into just the subforum they're looking for so it is more likely they'll get the clicks and turn a browser into a regular poster. Poly needs this type of front page if it wants to pull more new posters in.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
