ah... learning/ teaching.... in dutch it's the same word
I learn it to you
I learn it from you
that's why I always mix it up.
As with loaning/borrowing, we just have 'lenen' (loaning) for both actions. Why make things complicated if it can also be easy.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

By the way you can learn something about a word if you know its history. For instance: to teach
I just wished there were a German version with German words of this site.

It is more difficult if you have to understand the context to understand the real meaning of a word, therefore you need more words.
That's what words like "to" and "from" are for.
Those words are mostly used in these phrases anyway. "I loaned it to you" or "I borrowed it from you"
It only fails in lines like: "I loaned it" or "I borrowed it"
But in dutch we then put he word 'uit' to it: "I leende het uit" ("I loaned it 'out'")
but you're right, when fewer words are available you lose something.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

English is a confusing language (or so I've heard). Lots of rules and lots of exceptions to the rules. Plus (from what I understand) the largest vocabulary of any language on earth.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Are they documenting this kind of stuff? It seems to happen regularly.
Also, is Gramphos still staff?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I, you, he, she, it, we, they
Just one syllable or that a verb has irregular forms like:
be, am are, is, was, were
drink, drank, drunk
And here is my favorite, of course no one says it:
****, inflected forms: **** or shat
Yeah but everybody heard it often enough to memorize.

Thanks Solver
You were always the only WPC admin that I actually liked“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
