It would be more fascinating if you could post miscellaneous quotations from the Administrators room!

Wow - you might well be the only 'Polytoner to have a chance meeting with a poster they hadn't met previously.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me. Quite funny and surprising. And it happened only a couple of weeks ago! We had a fun talk, with me updating him on how poly's faring. He didn't know of the ownership change for instance. He was a little unsure how Ming's being an owner could turn out for some reason. I said so far it's gone well.

"maybe start apologising in advance for the fact that it'll be buggy as f*ck" (Locutus)

From the ban log: (always interesting)
"It might be shorter after we have a "discussion"" (Ming)

"Will we get the minutes of what you guys have said in the admin forum
Man, it was cruel to see you guys posting like crazy without being able to read it (officially) " (CyberShy)

"I think you should be permabanned as a threat to internal security " (Solver to CyberShy)

"Goodness. I hope you guys know what you're doing..." (AlexanderI)

I rememer a few of these quotes and the names, but we all are in process of moving onward

In our private forum we trading stories on how we became mods. Now While I won't share others, I'll encourage them to do so themselves.

              My story was easy.

Step 1: Publically and privately declare that you would never do it.
Step 2: Go out and get wasted with Ming.
Step 3: Wake up the next morning to find out you're now a mod of the OT.

Come on now, some of you others, tell your story.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I've been campaigning for it for years now

Upon further prodding in heart, mine comment while meant as humor, was not warranted.

Seriously though, I did enjoy being a Mod and Staff member, keep up the great work all

It is a personal pride that to me keeps volunteers coming and staying, with of course real life problems sidetracking true intent.

Here is to many more years.

I do remember, in our Staff room, comments about how important the site maintaining appeal and diversity to keep folks coming back.

Ten Years speaks volumes for just that reinforced theory being made practical application.

                  Thanks all!

For me it was a little different:

                    1. Make official mod for BtS and get it hosted at Poly.
                    2. Declare in the staff room that "I can do the Col site better than that" when Civ4: Col is announced.
                    3. Come back the next day and find I'm Mod of Civ4: Col and told to do it better.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

While I burned the bridge allowing me entrance into our Poly Castle, once I get feeling better, will start contributing some more, albeit titleless, I do look forward to at least doing some groundwork and footwork

Afterall, it is the success of our site (ours because I do feel at home and a part here) and want it to suceed, not for personal glory

Anyhoo, we have a most talented group assembled, time to move forward for another decade of community promotion!!!!!
