This thing is too damn 1998...
I think everyone's learned by now that the internet is an open space and closed gardens don't survive. Anything that interferes with a person trying to leave this site to a linked URL is really bad user experience.
A barrier to other sites is annoying and the cure for that is to leave to less annoying sites. I don't think this is something Apolyton should encourage.
When a link is featured on the forums, the link follower intends to come back to this site to post a comment about it. This will no doubt add another page-view and increase ad exposure. So no need for that annoying page.
I doubt the redirection page is responsible for much of your income. I also bet that all people press on the "skip" link while muttering a curseword or two.
And finally - 15 seconds is eternity in internet time. We have fast connections and the ad loads instantly (assuming it isn't blocked by my browser). We decide whether we're gonna click it immediatelly. Most times the answer is "no". Then we have 14 seconds to stare at the page. Most people could have skimmed through 2 posts by that time. Some people could make 2 posts by that time.
Face it - it is annoying - it is 1998 - and it is too long.
It has to go
