I saw him earlier (don't ask - long story) and he was complaining about the snow as it happens.

I have to agree with what Dr. Spike said. The Sports forums are a success and prevent clutter in the regular OT when you have different threads on an individual sport and then individual BIG stories in those sports. The Tech forum allows for knowledgeable individuals to answer questions about tech issues without (as said) the the "witty" one liners by some that may get the original issue off the rails. I think it should be kept even with low posting because it can be a good place to get questions answered quickly and in depth.

History is the question. As Locutus pointed out, it wasn't as if the history discussions in general OT were that substantive, or even that healthy in posting numbers. It'd be more pop history and some one liners and whatnot. Far more substantive history was going on in Civ4 - General. The History forum had its heydey with in depth discussion, but that's been slowed.

You will note that there have been threads that should have or have been moved to the Tech forums or Sports forums, but I don't remember any that people have said should be moved to the History forums, and yes, Hurt/Heal is a forum game, Zkrib.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Ok, I don't have time to send a PM so everyone else please stop reading now.

                  LordShiva, that means you.

Ok, that's everyone DQ, can I be an admin? I'll do my best to dumb it up big time. (It's really not that much of a reach)

get in line, dammit, i have been asking for months and months to be staff.

and on-topic i stick by what i said that we are way too small a forum to have 3 sub-forums for every forum. Off-Topic should be History, Tech, and everything else. (i agree Sports should be seperate.)

So what reasons then did we agree to unite all the Civ 4 forums together? And why is this logic not being applied to the OT...?

I cant be arsed to click one more time to reach the subforums, but if the people who do so enjoy them better now, and poly has the bandwidth to spare, then let em stay.

EDIT: I guess the bandwidth wouldnt be effected but y'all get my drift.

I had assumed that History would be the home for threads from on-topic forums that had moved off-topic to historical issues - mods would move them there.

Yet I havent seen one such, since sub forum was created.

                                Why?

Are the on-topic forums really that dead?

Have the on-topic forums really moved on from "my civ was more historically important, and more worthy for inclusion, than your civ" ?

Are the on-topic mods not even looking for stuff like this?
