Here's the thread of Zkribblers that shows a few pics of the first Poly House among vacation pics. The first Poly house was built for a young lady and her mom that were abandoned by the father and living in poverty and abusive conditions.

Because of Apolyton and its good people, those women are today living in their own home, and Karen Mills, the daughter, completed her education.



Poly House II is being built for a family that lives in an abandoned house that's falling down around their ears, doesn't keep the rain out and has a big hole, huge hole, right in the middle of the floor. Both the parents are very industrious clean living people struggleing to raise their daughter in such conditions. There is no regular work in this country, no regular jobs. Rodrigo takes what work there is, sheperding cows in the hills for my father in law, security guard when he can get it, construction. Right now he's helping me build a seawall. Very hard working guy, reliable, good man. Everyone seems to always like 'Rigo'. His wife, Marivic 'Vic' is also very hard working. When we are here she is our full time house helper, when we are gone she comes every other week and dusts. Its enough for rice when they have no other work. The daughter, Irish, is very cute. I said she was 4 in the other thread but my wife informs me she's six.

They lost the birth lottery and got born in a place with little chance, a place where your station in life depends more on whose kid you are than what you're made of. In such a situation they have forged a strong family that finds its strength in each other to overcome obsticles that I can't even imagine dealing with.

Vote banana if you will, but I've personally resolved to make a difference for these people, and I ask you to please join me. Mine is now the only vote to help them in this poll, and I know we can do better.

The first Poly House stands to prove it.

Construction hasn't started yet, we're still collecting. Also, Rigo and I are both still working on my property, allowing him to save for his house since his family is living here with us for the time being and we're feeding them. If he had to save it all it wouldn't happen in his lifetime, materials prices have left most people here behind.
