  • PolyCast Episode 28: "CivJunction, What's Your Function?"

The unprecedented fifth consecutive week bringing a new episode of PolyCast has arrived with "CivJunction, What's Your Function?" (59m57s) as the show's twenty-eighth edition. First time guest co-host Methos from CFC joins regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, Wouter "Locutus" Snijders, Makaluha, Imran "Imran Siddiqui" Siddiqui in this outing.

PolyCast is the official and regularly bi-weekly, one-hour audio production of ACS in an effort to give the Civ community now an interactive voice. The series' fifth blooper reel will be released next week and -- in two weeks time -- the twenty-ninth episode is to follow. ACS is the only known website to produce its own Civ podcast.

Representation of our future CFC minions in PolyCast

      Having Methos and not Perf

A really like this episode. It is return to a true PolyCast that hasn't been seen since around the time BTS was announced.

My prefered game is if I'm in thye middle of AIs preferably with coast on one side. My friends are usually the ones who I have the same religion as and will therfore be near me. If you start on the edge of a continent, my friends will be my only neighbors and I will have to kill them early leaving myself only in the game. If I am in the middle of AIs, I will probably have civs of a different religion on one direction and friends with the same religion in another direction. That way I can expand in one direction without killing off my friends so early.

Ah, because it contains no Interview segment?

That you most prefer to be in the middle of AIs makes you similar to Methos in that respect. I'd prefer at least some coastal access as well (or lake if e.g. pangea) out of trade considerations typically more than anything else.

Yes, whether yours is the state religion that has been adopted or is someone else's...

Partly. Ever since BTS was announced it was about the new features in BTS and then after it was released it was how all the new features are used. Then it became about the CivRev previews and interviews. It was nice, but I started to miss the traditional PolyCast.

I hadn't yet thought about how this episode is more traditional in the show's history than that far back in our archive until you mentioned it.

I too find the mix in flavours of PC episodes to be a nice characteristic.

It was a lot of fun doing this episode! Thanks DanQ and Poly for inviting me! I must say, after listening to myself for an hour I would agree with my wife, I'm a dork!

                  Excellent Polycast!

Enjoyed it all - the modcast was one of the best bits again.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Plus - forgto to mention before - a big to Methos for plugging the Bts Tri-League Tournament!

Considering I couldn't remember the word "league", I'm not for sure how much of a plug it was.
