  • Suddenly not receiving updates to threads?

As of maybe 8-26 or 8-27 I no longer get my updats for the threads.

I thought maybe I accidently hit unsubscribe to all threads, but went back and manually added myself to several and am still not getting updates.

Just wondering if this is a script issue of was this a more sinister plan to silence Gramps

I did check and yes, I am still subscribed to all the ones I have been, just not getting email notifications of the new posts replies in them

Yes, this was an issue that cropped up over the last 48hrs. and was investigated. It was a technical problem on our server end and was corrected in the last few hours as of this writing.

Note that forum notifications for the affected period have almost surely been discarded; however, most email sent to us should be delivered in steady streams over the next 3-4 days as mail servers make further attempts to deliver them. If you sent such mail and do not receive a reply from its recipient(s) within a week from today, please re-send them to best ensure successful delivery.

Emails sent from Apolyton email accounts based on our mail server -- i.e. those addresses that were not aliases to other accounts -- were not affected.

Gramps, you are one of the few hard-core Apolytoners left I'm thinking! You actually subscribe to the threads you post in?!

I tried this option, but eventually got flooded with email notices and ended up unsubsribing to all threads. I have enough trouble keeping up with the regular spam/junk email!

I must say, I am impressed.

Of course, I have my Aployton 'home page' (if you will) pointed to the PBEM Forum since that is where I normally 'camp-out.'

We had not posted a general notice to this effect as it has not been 24hrs. yet, but yes.

We are working to diagnose a technical problem which necessitated turning off not only forum notifications earlier today, but also preventing incoming messages to Apolyton email accounts. Messages sent to these accounts should continue to reroute and should be able to be delivered before these routine attempts time out.

We do not have an estimated time of resolution at this time, however, but will keep everyone apprised including if and when to re-send emails to us.
