  • PolyCast Pilot 02: "Another Go"

Another present! The PolyCast team is joining the ninth birthday celebration of its parent [see story] by releasing the second pilot from its production vault. "Another Go" was recorded more than ten months ago but was chosen not to launch the series as was the case with the first pilot [see story].

It features current regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, Wouter "Locutus" Snijders and Makahlua. Segments consist of 'News', 'Modcast' and 'Research Lab'. Total runtime is 48m:13s (23.1MB).

PolyCast is the official bi-weekly, one-hour podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS) in an effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice. The much anticipated twenty-second episode [see story] is to be released this time next week.

No reason to apologize, Ian. You expressed your criticisms in a civilized fashion.

To confirm when you say "bad quality overall", are you referring to the audio quality there? If so, I can appreciate that -- we were still getting used to our equipment (and in some cases its limitations) and I editing the show. This is the one episodic installment of the series that does not include a 'banter' introduction -- an experiment over the first pilot -- and one I'm glad we didn't adopt. We also eventually dropped the spoken news summaries early in the first season still ongoing.

For the reasons you have cited and others (e.g. Imran not able to be there), we chose not to launch the series with this episode as well as not releasing it in a 'standard' episode timeslot and not releasing it until now. It is "very much" a pilot.

Speaking of which, have you listened to the first per chance? Would be interesting to learn your take on it in its own thread.

More than two years after the release of this production, its "Cut!" segment is now available in partial lead-up to the start of PolyCast's third season later this month.
