Has the limit always been 10000 bytes or is this new?

I was hoping I could keep mine when my subscription expired, but I never tried. guess there is no loophole workaround.

not that mine is any better. I'm looking to change mine now, but can't find what I'm looking for.

Yeah there was, my PLUS subscription ended last November.
