I sign that petition too and even propose to use the term TFAIPOM (The Free And Independent Part Of Macedonia), to clearly remind, that there is still a part of Macedonia wrongly subjugated by Greece.

Or barring that, a compromise would be to refer to Greece as FOPOG (Former Ottoman Province of Greece). I'd prefer the true name of the nation be used but that option would be acceptable to me as well.

The People will not support this proposal until DinoDoc ends his policy of impersonating Kuciwalker.

The dispute between "Republic of Macedonia" (RoM) and "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" (FYROM) on the official naming of the latter is still ongoing. Until representatives from Greece and RoM/FYROM can come to a formal agreement and jointly make this public, FYROM will continue to remain the reference in place here.

It should, of course, be noted that the United States has recognised the state as the Republic of Macedonia.
                        I guess a Canadian wouldn't care though :\

The fact that the Canadian government has stated a position on the matter shows that it does care. As I've already said, until the matter is officially resolved the interim term will continue to be used. It is (most) appropriate.

Of course, just because the Canadian, American or whatever government states a position on such a matter doesn't mean that many if any of its citizens have an opinion one way or another. If I didn't care though, I wouldn't have bothered to respond to this thread at all...

I thought even you would be able to figure that out on your own.

What about Taiwan? That matter has already been officially resolved by the United Nations, and yet it seems Apolyton has chosen to ignore that resolution. Why is this? Is it a mere oversight, or could it be because the name or status of Taiwan/Republic of China/People's Republic of China doesn't appeal to Greek patriotism and irredentism as much as that of Macedonia does?

As a Canadian, it is shocking that you support and perpetuate petty nationalism.

                              Oversight -- Taiwan removed.

You damage your argument and credibility with such unfounded statements. Save your immaturity for someone else.
