  • Proposal to greatly increase forum quality with little effort

What about introducing a simple IQ test into the signup procedure and let only people proceed who get at least a rating of 80? There are plenty of tests on the internet, it shouldn't be hard to find one. Existing posters should undergo it too, but receive a discount of 5 points, because obviously posting on Apolyton makes one dumber. People who fail in this test, should be forwarded to www.newsmax.com.

New posters should also be required to reveal their stance on some subjects of general interest, like these:

    1) Should Hitler be a leader in Civ4? People answering "yes" should get the honorary title "Hitler supporter" with an appropriate Civ group badge. Obviously this question has to be modified in future Civ sequels.

    2) Should Spearmen be able to defeat Tanks? This does not have to be modified, because every civ sequel has something like a spearman and something like a tank in it. People who answer "no" should be banned from the On-Topic forums.

    3) Boxers or briefs? People who answer "boxers" shall also state whether they give them names or not. People who answer "neither (banana)" should get the title "Pervert" if they are male, and if they're female they should post a picture of what they wear instead, for further discussion.

New posters should be tested for correct usage of "teh" and "pwn". People who can't use these words properly, should get the title "pwnz0red" and be banned from teh Off-Topic forum.

Additionally, new moderators should be required to have an IQ of at least 100 (95 for existing ones, for reasons stated above). They also should prove that they're able to post all in bold letters, because that earns them more respect.

Thanks for your kind attention, and I hope my humble proposals will be considered with goodwill.

            Ditto.

            No.

As far as minimizing spambots go, we have a common anti-bot measure already in place on the account registration form -- type in letters from a field that computers cannot read into a text field.

              Hello Tacc,

Thank you for providing your input regarding the administrative functions of Apolyton. While we appreciate and read all comments, due to the volume of letters we recieve each day, we regret that we are not able to respond to them individually. Be assured that your feedback will be considered thoroughly!

I hope that you continue to enjoy the services Apolyton Civilization Site(tm) has to offer.

              Thank you,
              DanQ
