It's retarded on its concept. Look at the Polycast forum, for christ sake...it doesn't take a genius to determine how incredibly stupid and self-serving it is. The Polycast forum actually shows that there is some audience to it, other than the hosts. So do download stats.

There are people on this site to whom off-topic isn't the alpha and omega of Apolyton - they want civ news, they want to hear the discussion or the interviews.

The discussion, actually. Polycast is a fairly recent addition, and the site doesn't get much traffic these days, but there are posts in that forum by people not involved in the making. But primarily, I base it on download numbers.

Yes, mocked by people whose main contribution often is trolling and troublemaking . And I'm pretty sure that most people who mock it are just you, as in haven't even listened to an episode.

Of course it was fun. It had some personality. That's why the PolyCasts are such a joke...DanQ doesn't exactly ooze personality, you may as well have an hour long text-to-speech engine reciting forum posts for a PolyCast and you'll get similar download numbers.
