Certainly not administrators/owners. Staff is a bit of a gray area, but as a general rule I would caution against it.
A better approach may be what some staff members have done in this thread which is provide references to new/corrected/updated data not just on-site, but also off-site corroborations: the latter in particular is important in improving the overall quality of the article and bringing it up to Wikipedia's stated standards.
Ideally then non-staff members would take this information and incorporate it into one or more updates for the entry.
