I can honestly say there has been quite a few discussions and you can expect some changes in the near future. But this will never be quasi porn site. Babe threads, on the other hand......

The "minor" practical changes/enhancements that Locutus mentioned are fine, obviously. They sound great actually.

But as an example of how I personally don't want things to change just emerged. The so-called babe threads. We've been doing fine without them for 8 years, and I see no reason to introduce them now. You don't need to cater to the lowest common denominator when making "improvements" to the site. Sure, improve and streamline the technical nuts and bolts, but as for the editorial/administrative aspects of running the forums, I say keep things just the way they are. It's a tested and proven concept that we have here, with a wide appeal to all kinds of people. There's no need to make any changes to that. Least of all by introducing so-called babe threads which people obviously know where to look for elsewhere.

Babe threads were banned "temporarily" 3 years ago because at the time they were too much of a strain on an already struggling server. The reduced load on our moderating team was a nice bonus. But they were a small but highly appreciated part of Apolyton for years before that -- one that was easy to avoid if one wasn't interested in them

We're now 2 server upgrades further and a much smaller community, so with some restrictions in place we might just be able to handle them again. As rah said, we've been having some interesting discussions...

At the risk of breaking character, I'll say this: You are awesome Ming. I enjoyed the meet. I do appreciate everything that you and everyone else does to contribute to this community to keep it going. My continued presence here is an indication of how much I value it despite my continued asshattery. I just try to be comic relief, that's all.

I still have the Blackhawks calender, btw. It came in very handy

I used it to keep a log of my exercise/activity and weight measurements so I could monitor my progress. If it's any consolation, you helped contribute to the improvement of Sava.

But it runs out at the end of November.

I'll have to retire it.




Anyways, props to Markos.

Well, you know, they had to scope potential new changes to the rules - work out guidelines and standards of acceptability and so on. These things take time.
