UR's "moderating" of the Off-Topic

I was under the impression that UR, due to his personal history, wasn't allowed to lock any of Asher's threads. But, there it was... Asher's threads locked by UR. And it was one an issue, ie, his iPod screwing up.

So, I mean, can we get a clarification here? Is UR restricted from enforcing his personal vendettas in his moderating, or do we have to watch out what we say against his personal positions on the OT?

It's high time the administration sucks it up and admit they made a mistake in selecting Urban Ranger as a moderator.

Why are you dragging me into this? That is the first thread to do with Microsoft that I have started in God knows how long. I can't even remember the last thread to do with Apple that I started. I was surprised that Paul Thurrott had posted such an article, given his history as a journalist. It could have been an interesting discussion, but like every potentially interesting tech related thread on this forum it is quickly destroyed by the antics of Asher, and Asher alone.

That's one thread I've posted.. as far back as I can remember. Whenever I see a news item that says something bad about Microsoft, I don't immediately rush to Apolyton to post it, unlike some people with respect to other companies.

Nor do I bait mods or engage in personal attacks against the site owners (other than the usual good natured make fun of Markos stuff). I'm guessing that's why my thread wasn't closed.

Leave my threads out of it, please.

It would be rude to hijack Aggie's thread with discussion of something completely different.

It's a legit problem. If somebody's whining about the quality of a beta product and it stands, why is it not permitted when someone whines about a finished product? Further, why did Urban Ranger post that incredibly inane Times Square thread, which is about one hundred times less relevant or useful than my thread, then decide mine is worthy of being closed?

Urban Ranger shows no skills of judgement and obvious bias, and you are doing exactly the same.

Shame on you, Markos.

Acknowledge the problem and/or mistake, apologize for it, and move on. You're digging yourself a grave away from people's respect when you keep up with this nonsense with laughable rationalizations.
