I'm beginning to think you don't actually have an answer. And you can work on blunting your "condescending *****" attitude while you think of an answer.

Its only fair that everyone cast their votes around the same time. If no one asks the post stat question for a month should I really be allowed to cast my vote then after enough time has passed that others have all ready lost the days they picked?

What is the difference between picking a date 3 months away now, or waiting a month to pick a date 2 months after that time. They are a month closer to when the event will occur, but that still doesn't help them win it, plus they have the added disadvantage of not being able to pick the exact day they want if others have picked it already. If the event happens before they get their vote in then they miss out completely for that round, so obviously a vote in a month's time implicitly includes the risk of the event occuring earlier, the same as anyone picking a date beyond a month take the risk that it may fall before their date.
I don't see any real differences between the two situations, hence my question regarding Mr Attidude's reasoning.I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

It's like walking in to a betting shop at round 10 of a boxing match, and arguing with the bookie that you should be allowed the same odds on a bet of the contest going the distance as someone who has been there since the start having made the same bet, who faced the risk of the fight ending in the first few rounds.
So the rule stands, I'm afraid.
