I'm not sure why a valid GameSpy ID is required for membership in this group. I have never used GameSpy and have played many MP games using direct IP connection which I prefer. Also, I don't like to install spyware on my computer and particularly not when it has spy as part of its name.

Plus, it doesn't really serve any purpose even if you were using Gamespy. Naturally, you could voluntarily share your info in your profile if you wanted.

I was very active in Civ4MP for a few months, before I got tired of the uncompetitive nature of the ladder, and the ease with which players could dodge challenges.Comment

Well I think me dodging your challenge in a game I no longer play and 3 of the top 4 players repeatedly refusing to play the 5th ranked player even though they were all online a lot are quite different kettles of fish!
