Why in damn blazes is this site trying to get me to download this? I find it all rather forward and completely unbecoming an internet forum. For heaven's sake, could this be taken care of?

What browser/version are you using? What page(s) were you visiting when this appeared (addresses/URLs please)? Do you have (a) screenshot(s)? Did you have any other browser windows/tabs open at the time?

I'm using IE.
Every page on the forums.
Screenshot: no, but I can describe it. A grey popup box appears requesting me to download it, with choices yes or no. I went to advanced options and selected never. Now I get a gear with a warning sign at the bottom of IE while on these forums.
It appears regardless of what else I have open.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

I'm getting it every time I open a page.
Its a Macro media pop up.
Badly affects those of us who *cough* view pages from work because some of us can't use filters on office systems. I don't get it at home - must be linked to an ad. You don't see the ad its linked to.
Btw the way I can't download to desktop so it would be a major system blooper if I pressed yes and since it pops up constantly there is a risk of that.
It even pops up when I post, like now...Last edited by Alexander's Horse; April 18, 2006, 02:36.Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

In addition to the information I requested above, the address(es) that the ad(s) point to is/are needed to positively identify the source(s); combined with screenshots, all the better.

It's not here today. Don't see anything else different.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
